1. Who we are

Apex IT Group (ABN 92 696 934 817) is an Australian digital consultancy operating at apexitgroup.com.au. We are the entity responsible for the personal information collected through this website.

2. What information we collect

We collect two categories of information:

2.1 Information you provide directly

When you submit our contact form, we collect:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your phone number (optional)
  • The message you send us

When you email or call us, we collect the contents of those communications.

2.2 Information collected automatically

When you visit our website, our analytics provider (Google Analytics 4) automatically collects:

  • Pages you visit and time spent on each
  • How you arrived at our site (referring source)
  • Approximate location derived from your IP address (IP-anonymised)
  • Device type, browser, and operating system
  • Anonymous identifiers via cookies

This data is aggregated and used to understand how visitors use the site. We do not attempt to identify individuals from this information.

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Respond to your enquiries and provide the services you request
  • Send you proposals, quotes, and project-related communication
  • Improve our website, services, and user experience
  • Comply with our legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use it for advertising or send marketing emails unless you have explicitly requested them.

4. Who we share it with

We share limited information with the following third parties, only as needed to operate our business:

  • Google (Google Analytics 4) — anonymised website usage data. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
  • Email and hosting providers — to deliver contact form submissions to our inbox and host this website.
  • Legal and regulatory authorities — where required by Australian law.

We do not transfer your personal information overseas other than through the standard infrastructure of the providers listed above.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry data for as long as is reasonably necessary to respond to and act on your request, and to maintain records of our business communications. Analytics data is retained for up to 14 months in line with Google Analytics defaults.

You can request deletion of your personal information at any time — see Section 7.

6. Cookies and tracking technologies

Our website uses cookies set by Google Analytics to measure usage patterns. These cookies do not personally identify you. You can disable cookies in your browser settings or install a browser extension that blocks analytics scripts (such as uBlock Origin or Privacy Badger) without affecting your ability to use the site.

7. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Request deletion of your information
  • Withdraw consent to our use of your information
  • Make a complaint about how we handle your information

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@apexitgroup.com.au. We will respond within a reasonable time, typically within 30 days.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the personal information we hold from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. This includes secure hosting, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and limited internal access on a need-to-know basis. No internet-based system is ever 100% secure, however.

9. Children

Our services are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the latest revision was made. Material changes will be communicated to existing clients directly where reasonable.
